I'd just like to say thank you again for the past two weeks! It was an amazing experience and I'm sure that I (and some others on the trip) would have had the opportunity to do the TMB if you hadn't organised it!

Minibus

Hi, what day/time does all our stuf have to be @ school for the minibus to take over? And what exactly can we put on the minibus? I'm assuming: tent, sleeping bag, stove and fuel and karrimat.

As well as this, could map cases and compasses be provided by school?

T-Shirts

Liz Carman has been helping me with the design for the t-shirt and has come up with a really good one. Unfortunately the t-shirt will cost twice the price for the simple rather boring design that I had produced!

The question is, do I go for Liz's design and charge everyone 2 for the t-shirt or go for my simple logo and give out a free t-shirt?

What do you think, I need to make a decision very soon, so your opinion would be much appreciated.

Training Walk - Sat 8th July

I intend to go on a training walk this Sunday.

The Exmoor Challenge (NOT)

Meet at Marsh Bridge at 0930. A 24 mile version of the Exmoor Challenge (but missing out the begining and end - so more like 20 miles)

I can give up to 4 people a lift from Uffculme at 0845 (or pick up people anywhere en-route)

Apart from proving that I am not fit yet I also want to try to get the organisers of The Exmoor Challenge to have a far more challenging version. By doing it myself I will be better placed to get them to have a longer vesion next year.

Does anyone want to go along on this training walk with me?

Next of kin forms & luggage

Dear Mont Blanc trekkers

Just over 4 weeks to go for some of you, not long now!

I have sent a next of kin form to those who have given me e-mail addresses.If you have not received it, it is because I don't have an e-mail address for you. I will bring in some copies to school, please complete it. I take a copy of everyone's and I leave a copy at school for senior management together with other information. The next of kin form is so that if you have an accident or are ill and we need to contact someone, we have the necessary information.

There is also a section on your medical history, any medication, allergies etc, which is important that I have an accurate record of.

Please complete the form and return it to me. The quickest and simplest is for you to send the completed form back via e-mail. If you prefer you can post it to me at my home address Faraday Cottage, Tedburn St Mary, Exeter, Devon. EX6 6EH. or hand the completed form in to Mrs Alford at school.

Luggage

I will be in school on the last Friday of term July 21st to collect your tents and stoves for both trips.

There are 54 people going on the trip, it is going to make carrying all the luggage on both trips very much easier if you can double up on the tents and stoves, so that if you are on the first trip and are bringing a tent and stove, someone on the second trip will take over your stove and tent.

Leaving stuff in france

I'm going on the first trip and my sister (alice) is going on the second trip. Would i be able to leave my walking poles, tent and sleeping bag in france or the minibus for alice or do we have to buy another set of everything? Thanks

Mobile Phones and such

Hey there Mike,

Just starting this thingy cos' Mum was like "Oh you have to get a certain Network or you'll have to pay 1 per text"...now I'm not sure my Mum really knows what a Text means but if there is a Network which provides cheap International rates then I reckon it might come in handy. Mum said you were on one, fancy letting us in on this secret?
